February 1978: Six months after
leaving Puget Sound for French Polynesia, Loren and Joanne Edwards lie
dead aboard their sailboat Spellbound. Their daughter is bleeding from head

is an award-winning investigative journalist who has served as writer and
editor for several publications, including sailing and maritime periodicals. He
lived with his family in Seattle and Kirkland before attending the University
of Washington and becoming a junior high school teacher in Tacoma. He now lives
in San Diego and works as a freelance writer, book editor and publishing
consultant.
